Lower Kalimna Falls

Nearest Town:Lorne, Victoria, Australia
Road:Dirt
Height:5m
Walk:1.1km from dry weather car park
3.4km from Sheoak car park
Best Time:All Day

The Lower Kalimna Falls are a horse shoe shaped falls with an easy accessible cave are behind the falls. All though the drop is only about 5 meters these falls are quite spectacular.
These falls can be photographed from a number of different angle using anything from a fisheye to a close zoom lens. A ND400 or better is a must have to get the nice milky water effect as above. Extra lighting or reflectors come in handy for lighting the cave behind the falls.

Upper Kalimna Falls

Nearest Town:Lorne, Victoria, Australia
Road: Dirt
Height: 25m
Walk: 1.9km from dry weather car park

5.4km from Sheoak car park
Best Time: Afternoon
Map: Google

The Upper Kalimna falls are not that big, what makes these falls hard to photograph is that there are some very large rocks in front of it. These hide the bottom of the falls from the platform provided. You need to get in real close and have a very wide lens such a fisheye.

Using a fisheye lens means that you will not be able to use an ND400 so long exposure times are harder to do.

Erskine Falls

Nearest Town:Lorne, Victoria, Australia
Road: Paved
Height: 38m
Walk: 90m to upper platform
220m to lower platform
Best Time: Morning
Map: Google
Erskine Falls is best photographed in the morning where the sun light shines on the falls. As this falls is easy accessed via a paved road, be prepared to wait to take you photos. We had to wait around a good hour just to get shots with no people in them.
Also be prepared for some climbing, photographing these falls from the platforms provided will not get you stinning images.

The Idea

Puggs and I have  endeavoured to get  photographs of "every" waterfall in the  Otways national park. Depending on where you look and  where you  read there  are at least 75 and possibly 400!.
First thing that needs to be  done  is to compile  a  list and  this is what i've done.
This is not a full list and It'll be hard to get even these in a year.

If anyone  knows of any more waterfalls please  comment.
